Summer School

Because I was busy with my classes from April-August, and because Jon was gone 60+ hours a week with work, Aaron occasionally did his own "school" work while I studied. While I was able to get most of my schoolwork done when he was napping or in bed for the night, I sometimes needed to read, study or work on papers/projects while he was awake. He kept himself busy during these times reading books, drawing/coloring and playing with his new backpack. Aaron sees Jon and I wearing backpacks a lot and he was always trying to carry ours, so we decided to get him one of his own. I think he looks so cute in his backpack! (Pictures from July 2011)

You can often find Aaron just like this - reading to himself. This is still one of his favorite activities and we find him looking at books on the couch, in the rocking chair, on the floor and in his bed. He often says or signs the words he knows and makes the animal or vehicle sounds.
Coloring at his new table with Daddy. (This is an Ikea end tables we got for 8$ and it is a perfect children's table).
Coloring on top of his table.
Hey Mom!
These were Aaron's favorite books at 14 months (and most are still his favorites at 20 months). I took this picture because these were the exact books Aaron and I read together in one sitting before nap time. I just couldn't believe that he had that long of an attention span at only 14 months! Also keep in mind that he had me read a few of these books more than once.
Bye Mommy!
Looking like he's ready for school at 14 months. What a handsome boy!
