A Duggar Fan
Just this last year I discovered the show 17 Kids and Counting since it was on Netflix instant play. I hadn't heard much about the Duggar family but I was interested to learn more. I have since come to admire this family so much! I love learning about how they run things with such a big family and raise such happy, well-behaved children who love the Lord. While I know I won't be able to have even a fraction of the amount of children they have, I still feel I can learn a lot from them. I have really enjoyed watching their show and reading their newest book, A Love that Multiplies. I know that people are really critical of this family for how many kids they have, but let's face it, people who want to be critical are going to find something to criticize. Some pass judgement for families who don't have kids, or only have a "small" family or have what they feel are "too-many" kids. I believe that children are a blessing and I also believe that the timing and spacing of children is between a husband, wife and the Lord. We don't know the private lives and struggles of others and it's not our place to determine such an issue. In any case, learning about this family makes me happy. I feel great knowing that there are other Christian families placing family at such a high priority and striving to raise their children to love the Lord. Although we personally plan to have a much smaller family according to our abilities and personal feelings, I have never felt like the Duggars are out to make people feel bad if they don't choose to have as many kids as them. I always feel uplifted when I watch their show or read their book so they are a positive influence for me :).
